By the wall at Bethlehem

Soon, strange to say, my wife Kate and I move to Israel. During a brief visit over the past fortnight to make some final arrangements for travelling we had an opportunity to visit Bethlehem.

Here are some photos of the wall, taken just the day before the latest wave of protests began. These pictures show just a few sections, near Rachel’s Tomb, beside a shop selling prints of some of Banksy’s contributions. A Google image search will indicate something of its sheer extent.

We hope to have many more opportunities over the coming years to visit Bethlehem and other parts of the West Bank, and will use our blogs to write about and photograph what we see and hear. In the meantime, some images:
